Bruce Potter - Educator Facilitating Lasting School Improvement

Bruce Potter is an accomplished educator, superintendent, author, and consultant with more than 30 years of experience serving students, teachers, administrators, and school communities. He has worked in leadership roles at every level of education, from classroom teacher and building administrator to district superintendent and educational consultant. Bruce Potter has become recognized for his expertise in instructional leadership, teacher development, professional learning communities, and implementation of Visible Learning principles.

Mr. Potter was appointed superintendent of Berkshire Union Free School District in 2011. Leading one of New York State’s special act school districts, he served students facing significant academic, social, emotional, and economic challenges. Under his leadership, the district achieved remarkable student growth outcomes, secured multiple state and federal grants, and launched innovative workforce development programs.

From 2022 through 2024, Mr. Potter served as director of innovation for Green Island Union Free School District. In this position, he led efforts to achieve certification as a Visible Learning school by implementing professional learning communities and instructional coaching systems.

In 2025, he became an author and consultant at the Center for Collaborative Expertise. He is a recurrent presenter at national conferences and a recognized advocate for collaborative expertise, teacher clarity, and student-centered learning.
